About
Erik joined The Green Engineer in 2006 as its first employee and helped build the company to be one of the premier sustainable design consulting firms. His is passionate about finding practical solutions to reduce the impact of the built environment while prompting well-being.
As Director of Operations, he oversees activities of TGE’s various service sectors working to maintain and improve quality of work and customer satisfaction. Erik remains closely connected to project work as Principal in Charge with expertise is in running charrettes, helping navigate regulatory requirements and guiding owners, architects, contractors, and consultants in the pursuit of various third-party certifications. He collaborates with project teams to promote sustainable building materials, implement energy-efficient strategies, and incorporate design elements that create healthier indoor environments.
His experience as a practitioner gives him good insight into the motivating factors that drive owners to seek third party certification of their projects as well as the opportunities and challenges that come along with each system. Erik earned his B.A. from Bucknell University.
