About
The Sbrega Building at Bristol Community College (BCC) in Fall River, Massachusetts brings together under one roof all of the traditionally high-energy programs from across the BCC campus, including chemistry, biology, and medical and dental education. Despite its demanding laboratory program, this 50,000 square foot LEED Platinum building operates entirely on site-generated renewable energy.
ZERO NET ENERGY: The ZNE Sbrega Building includes a hybrid ground-source/air-source heat pump system, 17 filtered and high-performance ducted fume hoods, enthalpy wheels, air quality monitoring, fan coil units, 50% lighting power density reduction, a high-performance building envelope, and natural ventilation systems in applicable areas.
