The Coolidge Hotel at Brookline aspires to be an exemplar of sustainable design for hotel projects. The hotel is planned to be approximately 147,000 sf, with 210 guest rooms. The hotel will include a lobby, public meeting and event rooms, a cafe, a kitchen, a fitness center and administrative offices. The project is pursuing PHIUS passive house, and ILFI Zero Carbon and LEED platinum certifications. The heating and cooling for all spaces will be supplied via a water source VRF system with heat recovery tied to a geothermal loop with an air source heat pump chiller to supplement peak loads. Hot water will be provided with a ground source heat pump.
