About
The project consisted an in-depth study of the West Tisbury School enclosure, systems and energy performance with a goal of renovating the school to be a carbon-free/net zero energy ready building.
The West Tisbury School is a 61,000 square foot, wood-framed, one-story building, built in 3 pieces: completed in 1973, 1985 and 1995. It has had some upgrades but no major changes to the structure or its mechanical systems. The Town of West Tisbury, along with the other up-island towns of Chilmark and Aquinnah, has passed a resolution setting a goal that the town's energy will come from 100% renewable sources by 2040.
