We need action to address climate change. I am all in on the action.
I am the Head of the MA Office for Steven Winter Associates and a part of the High Performance Building Solutions/Passive House Team. My goals are simple, give forth my best work in the field of building science through the application of design principles rooted in responsible and sustainable methodology. I have been aligning a career to help cities and towns adapt policy to pave the way for sustainable communities and passing on what I learn to whoever will listen, but I intend to keep learning and growing.

Stephen was the project manager for the Hurley Lindemann plaza improvements. Working on historic public buildings is always a challenge. F#ck LEED was the mantra in the office, not because we don’t respect the LEED rating system, but because with Stephen’s expertise our team gained the depth and expertise to do better than what LEED was offering to the planet. The offerings of map-lab expanded under Stephen’s guidance – from sustainability audits to master planning a new neighborhood of Boston - map-lab began to offer services beyond what traditional design practices were offering. In addition, Stephen took initiative to enroll map-lab in the Architecture 2030 Challenge and the AIA 2030 Commitment and lead the effort to track our metrics and make certain we were on target to meet these goals. Stephen is one of the true leaders of sustainable design in the New England area and should be respected as such.
