Nubian Ascends Artist Housing is a 4 story affordable 15 one-bedroom unit building designed for local artists. This project fits into a larger development on the block that activates and enlivens a current parking lot in Nubian Square. The housing will be along a new pedestrian corridor called Artists Way which will feature pop up fairs and other programmed events. Around the block new lab space, a new cultural performance arts center and art gallery space will bring artist to the area and more economic opportunities. The artists who live here will have places to work on the campus. The housing will be Passive House and feature a ground source heat pump for the heating, cooling and DHW systems.
